The following is a rough outline of some suggested get togethers for this coming year. An organizing committee will need to work on formalizing/finalizing so we can get the calendar up.
Also – thinking it would be great if we could have a lead for various disciplines to help develop the curriculum or events for that area. Eg. Eden can take Encaustic and Fluid Art, someone (Virginia or Gill maybe?) could take Fibre Arts…etc.
September to December 2022
- Fibre Arts get together and regular gatherings (knitting, crochet, embroidery) – V/G?
- Encaustic (Prep: https://www.sharireplogle.com/studio-blog) – Eden
- other – edgeofgrey.ca – go to Alton for one of the workshops or arrange a custom one
- f/up with Heather Laidlaw (our first instructor) – she doesn’t have a workshop anymore
- Fall Tour in Clarksburg/Artsburg – 10/13-14. (Plan lunch in area and possibly a sketching class at one of the galleries) – Anna
- Fluid Art 1 – Acrylic Paint Pouring (Janet, Eden)
- Fashion week events in Collingwood this fall?
- Make Christmas Ornaments (identify requirements..) – TBD, maybe combine with xmas lunch
- One of a Kind Craft Show in Toronto – November 24 to December 4, 2022 – pick a day and announce.
- Botanical Art – 10 people: early December, maybe draw a pomegranate. (I’m away in November) Supplies needed: sketch book, coloured pencils, burnisher, pencil, sharpener and eraser. 2 to 3 hours is enough, then cocktails…. Jen – Pine Street.
- Riverside Greenhouse Urn and wreath making classes (Andrea)
- Christmas gathering or luncheon?
January to March 2023
- Cooking classes
- Beading Workshop – Karen
- Stained glass or woodworking – Patti
- Owen Sound – Georgian Bay Art Centre (gbarts.ca)- Virginia
- Fibre Arts circles – maybe monthly at different hostess locations?
- Encaustic
- Soap Making – a couple of artisans who could accommodate up to 6 around kitchen (Eden)
- Paint and Sip classes – various artists offer these but we would all be producing the same basic piece..
April to July 2023
- Acrylic Paint Pouring or regular gathering (Eden, Janet)
- Resin (Diana and/or Eden)
- Outdoor fun crafts again – cyanotypes, tie dye, dried flowers, paint rocks..
- South bayfields Lavender farm in Nottawa ($5)
