Huron Street Mural in Collingwood

Coming SOON!

We are excited to announce that Future Day will be working on a mural project in Collingwood this summer, in partnership with the Town, the Museum and Streetcar Development.

Along Huron Street, across from the Museum, there is a long 300+ foot wall of fencing that separates the sidewalk from the building project behind it. At each end, there is some information about Streetcar Developments and the community they’re building. The middle 100 feet of this fence will be the focus of our artistic creation this summer.

It’s an unusual project in that this will be a mixed media creation along a timeline of the history of Collingwood. We will be incorporating our original paintings and drawings, archival photos from the museum, contributions from the Museum children’s camps, and didactic panels.

The theme of this mural will be 150 years of the railroad in Collingwood, and how that tied in with the shipping industry and evolution of our town.

Check out our post on Community Involvement for more details on how the children’s camp will participate in the design of the mural.
